At Quay Street, we delivered a CAT B office fit-out designed to create a series of high-quality workspaces within an existing Manchester building. Designed to attract premium occupiers, the project brings together open plan working, meeting areas and supporting facilities, creating environments that feel both practical and elevated.
The Brief
The scope of the project required the delivery of multiple office environments that balanced open plan working with enclosed meeting spaces, while working with the building’s existing structure.
With exposed services and retained features forming part of the base, the design needed to integrate these elements while introducing a higher level of finish across key areas to support both daily use and client-facing activity.
The Work
Reconfiguring each space, we introduced a mix of open working areas, glazed meeting rooms, lounge spaces and supporting facilities including kitchens and welfare areas.
Exposed services were retained and coordinated throughout, alongside new wall formations, floor finishes and mechanical and electrical installations. Existing brickwork was kept visible, while higher specification finishes were introduced across joinery, kitchen areas and feature elements to elevate the overall environment.
The Result
A collection of workspaces that strike the right balance between function and finish, supporting both internal working and client interaction.
Open and enclosed areas work together without disrupting flow, while retained elements of the building give each space a clear sense of character. The overall finish reflects the quality expected of premium occupiers, delivering environments that feel resolved and ready for use.
