Set within Manchester’s hospitality scene, Dear Sailor is a high-end cocktail bar designed to create a strong, immersive atmosphere from the moment you enter.
Bringing together a considered layout with a rich material palette, the space is built to support both the pace of service and the experience of the customer.
The Brief
The brief was to create a high-end cocktail bar that felt immersive and refined, while remaining practical for day-to-day service.
With a focus on atmosphere, flow and usability, the design needed to support both staff and customers, ensuring the space could operate efficiently without compromising on the overall experience.
The Work
Working from a clear shell, we developed a layout that carefully manages circulation, seating and service areas to support the demands of a busy hospitality environment.
Key elements of the fit-out included bespoke joinery, bar and seating design, feature lighting, furniture and mechanical and electrical adaptations. Materials, finishes and lighting were layered throughout to build depth and character, creating a cohesive environment across the space.
The Result
Through the use of a carefully considered material palette and layered lighting, the space delivers a strong sense of atmosphere while remaining functional and easy to navigate.
The result is a venue that feels both distinctive and well-resolved, supporting the pace of service while offering a memorable setting for customers.
